Hey Guys,

So, for many years I have wanted an old Mini, then I move to the US and my chances are getting even slimmer. So, before the dollar is worth about 1p, I am thinking I need to import one. Over here, the imports are very expensive, rusted out bog standard 1000cc 1980's models are $15k, too much.

Anyone know any UK dealers who have dealt with exporting? Anyone else done the same thing? Idea of costs? Shipping seems to be around $700, its just all the work after.

Thanks, Rich

I know Mike at M Tech http://www.m-tech-cars.co.uk/  has exported cars and he's certainly very approachable, might be worth a call.

My very good friend Bill Rogers has a 1071 cc Cooper 'S' fully prepared (by me) historic rally car which he keeps at his home in Newbury Park, Ventura, California. It's RHD, but that's no problem in the USA really. Reg no. is 1071S.

Thanks for the info guys, will give the M Tech cars a call, see what they can do for me. Plus, being a rhd adds a bit more of a talking point too smile
