to play anygame on xboxlive i am sure have to pay to use the game on live

Yes the code should last forever, in that if you buy an old XBox game now the free code in it should still be valid.

If it's for personal use you can put the code in now and it will be added to the one you already have, you will get an e-mail stating the new expiary date of your subsciption

I know this to be fact has i've done it with the free voucher in GTA4

This is my thing as I'm keeping the free 1 month gold card for desparate emergency as I've already got 12 months to go on my current subscription.

Some are open ended, some have an expiry date, the only thing to do is check and don't take it as gospel that all codes last for ever
