S Club Heaven 2008 Update 4

Well it's a month since update 3 so.....
Dave_M, Gozzy, Mycroft and Barkychoc met up again on Thursday. Being a sunny, warm, dry evening it was great to see 3 TVR's in the pub carpark, even if one of those was Dave's cerbie

Don't forget that although SCH 2008 is on the Sunday it's a 2 day show and TVR's (regardless of which model0 & drivers can get free access both days via the exhibitors entrance. I'll post more detailed directions once we get confirmation of our allocated area from the show organisers.
So far we've got 50 names on the calendar which is excellent with 6 weeks still to go
(last year there were 47 on the calendar before the event). If you'd like to add your name to it here it is http://www.pistonheads.com/calendar/event.asp?i=34... This isn't a commitment to come but will help us to know how many cars to expect on the day
The rough schedule for the day is currently:
09.30 Showground open
11.30-12.30 Karting (exact time still TBC)
13.30 Voting for best in class ends
13.30-14.15 Scenic Drive
14.15-14.30 Noisiest V6 & V8 comp, best done with a warm engine
14.30-14.40 Prizes for best / noisiest awarded
14.40-15.00 Raffle draw
16.30 Showground closes

This is still being planned. The sight/sound of us leaving and returning to the showground should entertain the crowds!

We are only just a couple of orders away from getting the minimum needed to make the printing viable on cost grounds. Please email me your size through my profile (Small to XXXL) and I'll let you know where to send the money once we've got the minimum number we need.
Competitions
Don't forget you'll be able to vote on the day for what you think is the best car in the classes of S1 & 1.5, S2, S3 & 4 and V8S. There will also be a prize for the noisiest V6 and V8.
Accommodation

I am thinking of coming down on the Sunday so do I have to be there by a certain time to get in - some shows say no exhibitor access after say 10am or something. Any info re that will help me to plan what time I need to leave home.
Later: I've been to add my name to the list of attendees as per ref above but it hasn't come on the list - I've done the diary bit but is there something I've missed??

There are no restrictions on the time you can come and go from the site, you can come and go as you please.
Thanks for that Chris - I've just rechecked and I am on the list now having done nothing since yesterdays attempt.
Re other important matters - how are you doing re the being able/allowed to drive?? I hope it is all sorted OK for you and that you will be at S Club in the Tiv - you must be having awful withdrawal symptoms particularly in this decent weather.

Jim - still waiting for the hospital to respond to the DVLA.
Yes I am having a bit of withdrawal - although the car in bits in the garage is a bigger problem!
Anyway as this is now on page 4 I thought it should be bumped back up.

Very regrettably it might be 53 I am afraid.
The 'new' engine I put in mine at the end of April had a tiny noise we couldn't identify. Took it out and stripped it again, nothing evident at first but while I was away on holiday my son was double checking the bores and noticed a tiny mark low down one bore....crack testing confirmed his fears! Crack was actually about half way round one bore!
On my return from holiday I came on to PH to 'cry off' S club to find James280779 had just taken his 2.8 engine out (to fit a Cosworth), so I snapped it up and brought it home last night(thanks James and Mike. What would I do without PH?). Its supposed to be in good order so I am going to try to get it in next week and see if there is any chance of getting enough of the rest back together to get an MOT and get her down. It's a tall order but I will certainly be trying. I suspect a great deal of midnight oil is about to be burnt! So whats new!!!

There are 6 of us coming from Scotland. Only 2 of us are on PH therefore included in the PH calendar, but all 6 are TVRCC members.
So whatever number you have, can you please add 4 for us.
Now, although my techie skills are of course legendary, it may be better if someone else obliges

For those who didn't see the original TVRCC forum post, the context was that the show site is apparently booked for up to 100 TVRs, so people had to post here on PH (although it's a TVRCC event) to make sure they were "booked" . People from Scotland have to travel 300 miles each way, which is a long way to travel to find that a few extra "locals" have decided to turn up because it's a nice day and you can't get in. 4 of the 6 from Scotland aren't PH members, so it would be nice if the organisers reserved enough spaces for them. Ta. There are 6 of us coming from Scotland. Only 2 of us are on PH therefore included in the PH calendar, but all 6 are TVRCC members.
So whatever number you have, can you please add 4 for us.
