Hi Ive got a xbox, xbox360, PS1, PS2, PS3 and now Im thinking about splashing out on the Wii.

Does anyone have any views on the Wii Fit bundles going around? I love the 360 & PS3 for the more serious gaming FPS/ serious driving games.

However having seen a few ads for the Wii fit & played Wii Sports/Olympics I really like it and could do with sheading a few pounds.

Does Winter sports use the Wii controller like the Wii Sports & Wii Olympics does?

With Mario Kart whats it like?

Finally last question Wii Mario power soccer is that any good and does it use the controller or is it just like the PS3 & Xbox360 for controller use.

P.S. - this wouldnt be me (but in the same house) but for the Mrs birthday but I would certainly be using it too.

I can answer a couple of those questions - I bought a wii for the 'house' as i knew my wife would enjoy it as well - which she does as does anybody, no matter how old when they come and visit (quite fun after a few glasses of wine!). Wii fit is great, spent 30 mins on it last night, great mix of fun games and workout sessions. Mario kart is excellent and the wii steering wheel it comes with works brilliantly well IMO. I have a PS3, Xbox 360 too and don't realy class the wii as a rival (currently use ps3 a lot more than wii for eg esp with GTA 4). I would seiously recommend getting a wii as an add on to your consoles though - really good fun.

I wouldnt want any gaming type games (if you know what I mean Halo/Bio SHock/Gears or War/Fifa etc) just the fun games anybody can grab a controller and play.

We have a number of friends who dont have a console and when they visit and try to play against me its kind of pointless - the xbox360 & PS3 games require many hours work to get good at them. Also the Mrs isnt good at the games I play so I have to go online which is fine.

Apart from the following what would you recommend - plus does the console come with the numbchuck or is that another extra?

Id have to agree - having been round friends p&ssed and playing it is great fun. Doing the 100m after 10 pints and doing best of 10 runs back to back brings lots of sweat and fun, Wii Sports Boxing is very energy sapping too.

Id have to say every time I play it my arms just want to fall off the next few days

Seriously all the above and dont forget Guitar Hero III okay its not a game anyone can pick up and play against you with but it is very fun solo game.and if you can do anything on expert level i bow down to you.

Without a doubt it is the best console for family and fun use. For serious games get a PC or PS3. Mario Kart Wii is a hoot and will get you cussing til the early hours when playing online.

The console comes with a controller and a nunchuk IIRC. The games above are pretty much the ones I have apart from wii play which was £10 and is quite fun but wouldn't recommend it...

Brain academy is actually great which is again a really fun party game and sounds geeky but isn;t...

All those games etc I think its looking like around £400.... expensive.

Maybe I should start with the Wii, Wii Sports, Wii Fit and an Extra controller but only on numbchuck (as the numbchuck is £15 on top of the £30 controller).

Think a few extra snuggles will be the order of the day - I noticed her very impressed with the Wii Fit advert a little while ago.

lol - Finance Mgr (CIMA Accountant). But I like to have my toys, else why bother studying so hard.
I bought the xbox 1 6-7 years ago, xbox360 xmas 2007 PS3 xmas 2007 not got many games for them at all as yet but I only buy 2nd hand games so £12 odd for Gears of War, Halo 3 etc. I never throw them out and they touch wood are totally reliable.

Get Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition even if you've played the original, the wii controls work like a dream and it's a masterpiece of a game that I never get tired of revisiting.

Also Super Mario Galaxy... A work of art and some of the most original level design ever, it's pure genius and a beautiful game that's unfairly tarnished like most of Nintendo's output as 'for kids'.

Thing is that game is multi platform thus I'd get it on either the PS3 or xbox360 which ever is the best graphics etc.

Definitely super mario galaxy, its dead simple to play yet highly entertaining.

Super Mario Galaxy is fantastic.

No More Heroes is also worth a look, closest you'll get to swinging your wiimote around like a lightsaber until the Star Wars game arrives later in the year.

If you are getting an extra controller you may as well get it with wii play for an extra £1-2, there are a few fun games on there for a few quid.

You might have trouble trying to find somewhere that stock wii fit though.

Good point - so I should buy the Wii Fit Bundle with the Memory card 1Gb + Wii PLay.

Amazon have plenty of Wii Fits - ditto Play.com

ive got a ps3 and also purchased a wii, ps3 hardcore gaming and the wii for fun, its modded wink wink, so even better, and also put it in an official gloss black case to match the ps3
