This shot of NYC
Discussion
I've just come across this shot
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:New_York_Midtow...
My first assumption was a HDR photo but the cars are frozen on the street so it means it was a single exposure with a fairly fast shutter.
How on earth did they manage such a dynamic range at night?

A 20 segment panoramic image of the New York Midtown skyline as viewed from the Empire State Building at night. Taken with a Canon 5D and 85mm f/1.8 lens at f/1.8, ISO 800 and 1/40s exposures.
Could have something to do with it.ISO 800, a wide open lens and 1/40 shutter speed will do.
Stitch it togtether with a slight tweak of levels in PS (shoot it in RAW
) = job done.Chris
