Doomsday (post Scottish Independance, presumably)

Anyone going to see this?

Dog Soldiers & The Descent were both a great watch, so I hope a Mad-Max-in-Britain is as good. I'll openly admit to loving post-apocalyptic movies at any time, but the thought of seeing a wrecked Scotland is one I'd never even imagined (insert witty retort here).

Doomsday looks like a direct to DVD movie they have been forced to release for contract reasons. Judging by that trailer they should give you a checklist as you go in.
Now if you want to talk about rip off movies, how many does this one 'borrow' from?

However, Vipers + Guns + Jolie looking the hottest I've ever seen = "I'll buy that for a dollar!!!"

Am I right in thinking that in the advert for Doomsday there is a Conti GT driving quickly out of an exploding compound or something like that?? If so, it can't be that small a film.
ETA: Watched the ad again, tis indeed a Bentley, and the film actually looks surprisingly good. Also, chasing the Bentley, a Mad Max style Mk2 Jag! Might have to go see it.

Its something like triple the budget of his previous two films. Actually, my biggest fear is that it may be too much, too soon fo the director- the kind of thing which may mean he's learning his way through the movie, compromising it. I'm not expecting Waiting for Godot (or even MM2), but so long as its a fun ride, and entertains me as much as Dog Soldies did, I'll be happy.ETA: Watched the ad again, tis indeed a Bentley, and the film actually looks surprisingly good. Bently dont do product placement, apparently, so they went out & bought 3 Conti GT's for the film. The reason its Scotland is, apparently, inspired by Hadrians wall- which the director once lived near & wondered what it would take to rebuild it, according to wiki.

Holy thread resurrection Batman...etc..etc..watched this last night and really
enjoyed it. Yes it's MadMax meets Escape from New York but somehow getting chased thru'
Queen Street station is cooler than getting chased thru' WTC or a desert. The Bentley
stuff is pure MadMax, or should that be MadMacs.
