I was driving with my Corvette C4, and in the morning not long after the start I got some problems with the coolingfan. so i lost everyone and navigated with tomtom to the 'tante loes' restaurant. I was the first to arive ofcourse because i took the highway. and after lunch I was driving behind the BMW group and the orange ford focus behind me. The problems with the fan was causing the enigine to become very hot, so i had to stop a few times to give it a swing so it would blow again. when we were driving in some hill's very slowly my automatic transmission became very hot. so hot that i had to stop just before the bridge to Doesburg. An other Corvette stoped to see if he could help, but the only thing I could do is wait till it was cooled down. I decided to turn around and go back home. too bad I didn't make the finnish. tough all my problems, I had a great day.

The TVR Tuscan also needed a break on top cause of the slow driving.
It was actually more us than the car who needed the break! The engine coped incredibly well with the heat - in fact it coped much better than me, as I saw my skin turn a brighter shade of 'lobster'. Still I did not want to tempt fate by juddering up and down hills in first gear all the time, so we decided to have a break and take in the views. After about 20 minutes the road was clear and we had a great journey all the way to the ferry where we caught up with the group.
We also had a bit of a tailback when Eric had problems with his throttle cable, but that was quickly fixed after a number of other spring runners who had brought along tool boxes came out to help. Some people thought that it was history repeating itself when they heard about throttle cable issues on a red TVR!
Tommy - sorry to hear that you had so many problems, I saw you parked in a lay-by from my rear view mirror as I initially only noticed the yellow Corvette parked behind you. I hope you will be able to get it all fixed soon.
Many thanks to Albert and Wim for organising a fantastic weekend. The spring run's route was beautiful and the little detour on Saturday night through Rotterdam's tunnels was a hoot (especially when driving between a Corvette C6 and a Diablo ). Most of all though I enjoyed meeting everybody. The atmosphere was great and we had lots of fun. I hope to see you all again sometime on either side of the pond!
It really was a great weekend, so a huge thank you to Albert & Wim for organising it!
Great people, great car, great weather, couldn't have been better!
I've made a few pics with my cell phone, so not the greatest quality, but still ok.
GTRene's new girlfriend...
Mark Nauta @ warpspeed. Or Peter hanging half way out of the car and Jenna deciding that is a good moment to floor it, it definately was one of those two options.
