Hi all,

Looking to replace the front speakers next week. After a little research on here I've decided on some Infinity 2-way units. The question I've got is what is the difference between the 165mm units and the 6.5" units?

They are both the same size, price, power rating and so on. I'm thinking of the 165mm units as in the pictures they have more pre-cut mounting points, so lessening the drilling I may have to do to the Chim.

Anyone got any experience before I place an order?

Thanks,

Rob

not a lot of difference in size.

Have a look at the Surrey tvr website, there is a short write up about fitting these speakers.

www.tvrcc-surrey.co.uk

select Other on the menu and you will see an item about speakers.

Bingo. Cheers David, the 652i's are the ones that I'm looking at. Off to place the order now.

They are certainly better than the original pionner speakers and I know that Steve_T has the same in his car, so they seem to be a popular choice. I have heard that some people think they are a little "bright" in there sound, but to be honest I have a HiFi at home and in the car if I can hear it over the wind noise it is a bonus

Seriously, I think they sound quite good and they are a resonable price. The other option is to search this forum for previouse discussions of speakers and see what other people have said, the Griff, Chimeara and I believe General Gassing have all discussed speakers for these cars in the past.
