Lorelei?????

The other day I was happily walking to WHSmith to get the last EVO issue when horror struck me: parked in the street was a dreadful merc special called something like Lorelei, based on the e-class. I wasn't the only one shocked and no passer-by would avoid a mocking grin.
Anyone knows about this car?
