the eyepiece should come off, take it off and give it a clean? Even better if you have a rocket blowerwink

Could be a dust spec on the mirror. Take the lens off and gently wipe the mirror in front of it. That could help.

My advice is to ring Nikon fist, they should be sending cameras out that need cleaning!

Probably a spec of dust on the mirror.

Did I really say that? On ground glass screen I would say. Rocket blower will no doubt shift it, to the sensor hehe

Or could be dust on the bottom of the pentaprism.

Get a rocket blower - you'll be needing one anyway for the dust that'll end up on your sensor, then give the insides a good blow out. Chances are it's on the mirror or under side of the pentaprism (the glass thing in the top of the hole the lens pokes into)

If the spot is well-defined I'd suggest its on the ground glass screen (ie under the pentaprism), and recommend a Rocket blower too. But hey, I'm just violent, belligerent, spiteful and vehement hehe
