nice panorama shco, how many shots were blended? I'm just getting in to trying panoramas with canons autostitch. Are you just using AV priority and letting the camera do the rest to hope for like for like exposures?
I found when doing shots with varying contrasts you can get banding but perhaps I am not taking enough shots close enough together to over come this.

you should really be using manually exposure - take an average of the readings all the way around or just meter on the area you are most interested in.
the banding is due to different exposure values
if there are obcts close to you the focusing is phun too!!

thanks man,I found when doing shots with varying contrasts you can get banding but perhaps I am not taking enough shots close enough together to over come this.
think it was 12 shots. portrait format. used 303sph tripon head and realviz stitcher (highly reccomended). 30% overlap i think? banding shouldnt be a problem as long as exposure the same and decent software. i allways got poor results with auto stitch but it might have come on sice i last used it.
all shot same exposure, no hdri. just took reading of brihghtest area and darkest and split.

schoI never had any joy from Canon's autostich either. The latest photomerge facility in Photoshop CS3 and Elements 6.0 is absolutely fantastic though.
