To all,
as part of next years event plans, we have been asked to get involved with the Isle of Man tourism Board to run a car weekend for performance car club members to the Isle of Man. 200+ club members have already been made aware of this event, but we are opening it up to all the same clubs and groups who competed in TOTB2, to bring together some fantastic cars and clubs.

basics of the trip would be a friday 18th June 2004 midday ferry sailing to the Island, for all the cars, followed by 2 nights B+B, with a return home on the sunday night 20th june. The first full day (Saturday) would be a free days drive for all, around the isle of man TT course, and the rest of the island.(remembering the island has NO speed limits once of out the 30mph villages!)

on the sunday we have the use of Jurby Airfield for a timed sprint/top speed day (optional at extra cost of £30 per car), or again a free day driving the island on its superb roads. the airfield day will be run with
classes/trophies and an award presentation in the hotel on the day. returning home on the sunday evening.

Sailings will be from/to liverpool/heysham. people will be free to travel/return on earlier or later ferries as they book.

the cost per person is likely to be around £180 all infor ferry and 3 *** hotel (b+b) for the weekend. this price is subject to slight variation, depending upon the hotel quality wanted, and also subject to getting enough people involved. price also assumes the car used is driven onto/off the ferry, as trailers are charged extra.

all bookings will be done direct with the approved IOM travel agent and wont be handled by myself or 200+. this will start around christmas this year.

At this stage i would like to invite you /your clubs/groups to express an interest if you would like to get involved. No monies/deposits are required, just pass it onto your groups etc and if possible organise a list of names of interested persons.

The date is confirmed and it will go ahead, we just need to get an idea of numbers. there may be a maximum we believe of 120 cars in total, and it will make a superb fun weekend.Initially we are looking for club and group members rather than the general motoring public.

If we can get a list of names from each club or group of interested people within the next 2-3weeks i will then get back to you all. first come first served basis.

This event will hopefully be run as an annual trip for all the teams/groups who take part in Ten of the Best, as a social event, and also as an ideal tester!

We have also confirmed Elvington airfield for TOTB3, for Sunday 1st August 2004, with 3 additional open test days in april/may/july 2004.

any queries let me know
cheers
chris

This looks like a good weekend i will let my fellow vette heads know.
As for the TOTB 2004,just an idea ,2 weeks ago we stayed at a hotel 5 minutes away from Elvingten with around 30 rooms, reasonable size car park and about 5 minutes out of York, just wandering how a "Vette & Vipers" weekender would go down say arrive friday night sat morning, have a bit of a car show out front in the afternoon, arrange evening meal/disco(this might be a good time to meet up with any Northern based Vipers & Vettes) and finish of Sunday at Elvington,,i dont mind fronting the hotel about this.

Sounds like a good one. The Skunk is keen to go. Think the Bell Boiler would enjoy it too
