I have the common problem of a dropped passenger door (Griff). Any one know the best way to adjust it or have any tips ? I’ve read that some feel this is quite an art and best left to the experienced. Any views welcome.

Also, does anyone know why this happens only to the passenger door – the drivers door has never done it in five years of ownership.

Thanks.

I've adjusted my passenger side door, on my own, without difficulty. I first tried by loosening the two lower bolts which are concealed behind the carpet at the bottom of the 'A' post. This didn't allow sufficient movement in the door to get the adjustment I required so I re-tightened those bolts and loosened the two top bolts (It helps if you remove the glove box first) which did allow sufficient movement.

By leaving the window open, and the socket wrench on one of the bolts, I was able to move the door up and down until I was happy that it was in the right position before nipping up the bolt and closing the door properly to test it. It took about three attempts before I got it right but it was worth it as the door shuts much better now.

I only needed to adjust it because it had been poorly refitted after a respray, not because of any play in the hinges.

Hope that helps.
