Best Steering Wheel for PS3
Discussion
Anyone with any experience of these (or cheaper) steeing wheels. Are they worth it? Does it improve the game play by much?
I don't really want to spend the £150 for the G25 but, at the same time, I don't want to spend £50 or so on a crap steering wheel that is useless and adds nothing to the game play.
All advice grateful received.

My Advice,
Save up anf buy the G25, it is well worth it. Or spend even 300EUR on a Porsche Wheel, http://www.fanatec.de/webshop/new_eu/product_info....
That has kept me off my G25 for the last couple of months.
You get what you pay for!!!!
And both can be used on PC (where they are ment to be) so you can then buy some proper racing games and use on their.
It is worth the extra cost.

I've been using the Logitech Driving Force Pro. was £100 + I think got it with GT4.
It's got 900 degee mode, good feedback on wheel you can feel the steering go light before you loose the car, wheel gear change.
only Two peddles with no peddle feedback.
you can use on a PC also.
There's one on ebay if you want to see a pic

I'm Tempted to get a G25 but only if I can sell my GF-Pro for a ok price.

Its quality dear boy, leather wheel of a decent size, adjustable 900 degree rotation, stainless steel wheel centre, 2 motors for FFB, 3 year guarentee, 6 speed gated shifter + reverse that also doubles as a sequential at the twis of a knob, 3 pedals (accel, brake and clutch) stainless steel, good travel and very sturdy, very responsive. Stainless steel padles, great support, fantastic accuracy. It feels the best and offers the best feedback.
Recent Challenger, the Porsche 911 turbo wheel from fanatec. Been testing this since Feb, very good wheeel, authentic porsche 911 leather wheel (big), LED read out letting you adjust FFB, Rotation, vibration whils in game, also has programable settings for different cars/games. 3 pedals, the brake pedal is very good as it has short travel and gives alot of feel and control. Seperate 6 speed + reverse and sequential shifters, a very good table clamp, ability to have battery power pedals should you wish, and is wireless.
Both are excellent and ad so much to your driving sim of choice.

I have a driving force pro, had it since they came out and apart from the sticky brake pedal (easily fixed) its been ace. Seems to work very nicely with GT5 Prologue. Only complaint I would have about it is the resistance to twirling - for rally stages and tight hair pins etc, went back to a dual shock for Tahiti Maze on gt4...
G25 owners.. does it rotate more freely than the dfp? And do you really need a clutch pedal in this era of DCT etc?

+1 for the G25, and we have all of them at my workplace (for testing purposes). It's getting a lot of support on the PS3 now, including specific support for the gated gear selector.
The gear selector is the weak point in my opinion. It doesn't have any resistance to speak of, and the mount isn't good enough.

Interesting, personally I have no problem with the mount, although I use my G25 on the PC, so it's mounted to my desk. I agree with your comment on the resistance across the gate. Only shame with the G25 really, but it's not much of an issue. It certainly doesn't annoy me
