Aldon Ignitor probs

Hi has anyone else ever had probs with aldon ignitors breaking down over time in an A-series application. I only ask since I think mine packed up at mallory yesterday giving me an increasingly worse misfire meaning i DNF'd. This is the third time in the last five years I've had probs with them. I'd change to a lumenition et al but i dont like the seperate boxes and the additional connections. Also i guess these things are much of a muchness.

your thinking of the optronic luminition that has the retro 80's chunky box
they also do a magnatronic one that fits inside the cap.
the aldon one is actually a american pertronix one, hellish if you have one under warrenty as you have to send them back to the states (i.e dont bother).
at least when the luminition ones pack up you only have to send them to london.
i use the lumy one in my car with a standard coil and just replace the good quality std coil every six months. i tried one of the expensive coils and got a DNF!
