Mystery Nuburgring Car Revealed?

Hi.

If any if you get the Piston Heads newsletter, you will have seen there is an article about a mystery Nurbring car (link below). Anyway, i was looking on a website that photoshops cars and puts boy racer bumpers and spoilers on them, and i came across a Porsche. I clicked on it and i thought it looked the same as this mystery car. Read the article first then look at the pic below.

That actually looks pretty damn nice!

I would like to see it with a separate passenger pod too just to add a bit of symetry if nothing else ... although that may be the very thing that makes it looks so good in the first place ... interesting if anyone ever built one

Thats different, it has some styling to it. The porka looks too bland.

ooooh, opening that can of worms are we? Have you ever owned a 911? If not, put it on your "things to do before I die" list Jon ... they are awesomely competent cars and in my view the best all-round sports car the world has ever seen.

Ok, so Ive never owned one and never even been in one. I had considered getting a 996 as an everyday car if I sold the Ferrari. But would it give you the same buzz as the 355?

And why cant they make it look more like a supercar like the Carrera GT?

Forget the 996. It would definitely not give you the same buzz as the F355, but get an old skool 911 Turbo (930) or 964 Turbo 2 (965) or even a really well sorted 3.2 Carrera or 964 C2.

Half or even a third of the money of the Ferrari, but better handling and a whole heap of involving fun. On last sunday's run, if i had had the Ferrari and my old 911 in the garage, I would have taken the Porsche no question.

Just think, you are mid-corner and the back end gets a bit light ... and the easiest way to sort it out is to boot it a bit more ... now that's got to be fun

Actually yeah you would have taken the 911, seeing as the Ferraris throttle cable was broken!!!!

I must admit, I did really like the look of that white one you had before the latest 348. But I thought if the back end went on a 911, you just simplied died?

Nope ... you only die if you forget the one cardinal rule ... "never EVER lift off mid-corner"!

If you put a bit more power in, the back end squats down and pushes you through like a bob-sled out of a catterpult ... you just need to hang on tight and enjoy the ride

Like I said, the handling on them is amazing.

Yeah, but I'd be worried that the usual panic instinct would set in and I'd lift off.

I may just go for a DB7 instead
