That car advert.
Discussion
There's an advert for a car on TV lately, where a photographer has taking loads of shots of the car from many different angles. He then laid all these shots out to form a collage of the finished product - the car.
Hyundai? VW? One or the other. It was a blue car!
Anyway, to achieve this, as it looks like fun and it's also another angle on taking a photo, how would I go about this?
Would they all need to be taken with the same focal length keeping the same distance from the car?
Once taking the pictures, they'd have to be processed the same, keeping the same colour balance etc...
Anyone have any experience of this?

This technique has been around for some time, popularised by David Hockney (see here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A449921 ).
Personally, I think it worls best if you *don't* try to make the images match up...

Alternatively taking a alightly more cheating approach there is aPhotoshop action called something like "The Big Picture" which is available as a free download. What the action does is to take your image and cut it up into lots of Polaroid style tiles and you can then rotate the tiles to your hearts content.

that's just cheating as you say. I like the way the photos overlap and the randomness of it all. Try http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?ev... or

Take a look at this PH thread. Some of the image links have gone but it's still worth a read.
