A couple of pics with my first decent camera

Just bought a Panasonic FZ18 and have just been snapping away trying the different settings. The pics aren't really up to any standard but I thought these two were kind of ok. I messed around with the cat one in Lightroom but the garden one is straight from the camera. Any comments welcome .
