Mrs neilmac and I run a small guesthouse in Spain, we're just inland from the Costa Blanca and Costa del Azahar south of Valencia. As well as bed and breakfast we also offer walking holidays as this area is superb for scenic excursions. So, in addition to walking I think we could offer photography holidays based around these same scenic routes, plus the fiestas and festivals etc etc.

I wondered whether you guys, being enthusiastic with your photography, could give me some feedback and thoughts on this idea?

We would not be pretending to be professional photographers, and therefore offering tuition and training, merely enthusiastic amateurs with the knowledge of our local area to provide the locations etc. with our accommodation included.

I have set up a website already which will give more of an idea of what I have in mind. If you have a few moments please have a look around it, I would appreciate it. You can get to it by going to my website in my profile and clicking on the "photo holiday" button or the "photography holidays" link at the bottom. I think putting the site address here would probably be considered advertising?

Cheers in advance,

Neil

Hi Neil,

Well as you're not offering tuition I'd say you've pretty much cracked it. Some stonking photos would of course help - living locally you're well placed to nip out and capture some great lighting, which is always the big issue with landscapes. Later on perhaps you can cadge a few photos from your customers.

Suprisingly Nick, we still have one room definately available and we're waiting for confirmation of another, so could even be 2 rooms. Are you thinking of venturing out this way then?

Cheers,

Neil

Hi John,

I'm looking forward to experimenting with getting some "stonking" photos! I am awaiting delivery of a Canon 400D with Canon EF 28-90mm & 90-300mm AF Lenses so hopefully I can improve on the existing website pictures that have all been taken with a compact Canon Ixus thingy.

I'm getting even more excited about this photography lark now hehe

Cheers,

Neil

Pity you're not in NZ Neil - we have Agent Bacardi out there right now roaming about and armed to the teeth with cameras!
