mini auto problems

hey guys

i have a rover mini with a 1275 automatic engine (carb)and it was running well entill the gearbox gave out about 18months ago.. i had another gearbox fitted that hadnt done many miles... it ran fine but i took it off the road to ad some bits and bobs.. one of the things i added was a K&N air filter.. since then whenever i put it in reverse or drive and accelerate it cuts out... thought it mite of been the carb needed adjusting coz the fuel/air ratio wld of been different having the k&N fitted.. iv had a play around adjusting the mix but it still cuts out..

anyone have any idears?

Check the oil level in the pot on the carb (you probably did that all ready). Try increasing the tick-over. If that solves the problem then you probably nead to change the neadle in the carb. Hope this help Dan
