I was parked in Stockport tonight and came back to find a 2 foot key scratch down the rear quarter. They are extremely lucky i didn't catch them at it, i don't tollerate SCUM and i certainly am not one to be crossed by such a person.

I know how you feel John. My Griff was broken into, smashed door glass, bent frame, chipped paint on door and rear quarter, etc, and I'd owned it 14 hours.

As if that's not enough, 15 days into ownership an off duty copper reversed up the bonnet big time in an Audi A3. After acting like the biggest walking, he claims I drove into him, yet I was stationary having stopped behind him because he stopped on the main road to reverse into a parking bay. I found out later he's trying to claim off my insurance. What he doesn't know is what's going to happen to him sometime very soon, and it is absolutely legal and above board. It's not what you know. It's who you know. And I've been very resourcefull in an effort to rid the establishment of one bent copper.

This is intriguing! These f*ckers must get what's coming to them. Good for you! Let us know the outcome!

Sorry to hear about that John.T, and sorry for others that have had similar. Same kinda thing happened to me about 5 weeks ago. What I can't understand is the pure mindlessness of such acts. I'd love to know who it was that caused me the time and expense of rectification. Cretins!

Ever since some c***t took the wing off my (previously concours) 7 in a pub car park years ago, I never have my P & Js out of my sight.

The downside of ownership.

A friend of mine had his car damaged by a neighbour, whereupon, said friend backed his car onto the perpetrator's lawn and gave it 6000 revs, spreading half of the garden over the front of the house. eek

I just can't work out whether it's a total lack of respect for other's property, a wanton desire to destroy and deface anything that is perfect and conforms with normality or just outright jealousy. But know what?... I don't care which it is because until zero tolerance poilcies are adopted, there is simply no deterrent. These fcensoreding morons will continue their mindless vandalism and graffti so if we want to continue to live in the dumbed down, liberal, PC society that seems to prevail now, we'd better keep anything precious to us, locked up or in view at all times.

What a sad observation that is frown

yes

I had my car keyed a while back (daily driver rather than the tiv fortunately) and I wanted to stick the little scrote's head in a blender.

Had a silly one when I was at uni.

Just driven back to digs and was still sitting in the car with my girlfriend of the time.

Housemate gets into her car, piles on god knows how much revs, releases the handbrake and gently rolls backwards into my car causeing some very minor damage (about 5 scrathes)

Got out of the car and asked if she was alright and we can sort this out when she got back from her TA meeting. - Only wanted her to apologise...

When she got back she refused to talk to me! This went on for a few weeks until I got p!$$ed off, asked for her insurance details (she refused) so I wandered to the local police station.

End result was a brand new bumper (another story) and a week in the repair shop, I had a hire car, all on her insurance. Her given a warning for leaving scene and failure to give insurance details as well. And she felt she had to move out of the house...

It's amazing how things can escalate. Do you think she would have told me if I hadn't been sitting in the car?

I despair sometimes, I do not understand vandelism or those that just 'pretend' nothing happened and it would all just go away.

I get pissed off that our police force only act on crimes they see fit and can afford to. All crime is crime, no matter how small.

We all no doubt remember there have been several people murdered whilst confronting thugs attempting to steal the cars of these poor unfortunates. That gets the police in attendance, but a broken window and damaged lock seldom ever will. We make a phone call and are given nothing but a crime number. I remember my old man getting an endorsement for a sidelight bulb out. Bean counting and the law should never meet.

Totally agree.

It's allowing these 'minor' offences to go unpunished that leads to lack of respect for the law, and a society slowly but surely breaking down.

Litter louts, pushbikes without lights, kids swearing wherever they are etc, etc.

We need deterrants.

That's so true. Don't forget those of us that have been charged with enforcement duties get very frustrated at stat collecting. I'm afraid this is the result of a culture that has become too target driven. I don't disagree with targets, it's just they have to be relevant and aid the 'real' job being done, rather than frustrate and in too many case, drive perverse behaviour.
