Planning to upgrade my Chim 500's induction. Can anyone tell me where I can get a larger bore plenum with large bore throttle. Please note I do not want the ACT carbon fibre plenum. Also where to get larger bore AFM as well.
All suggestions are welcome and very much appreciated.

Don't forget to get some good smooth bore pipes too. On my modified 450 the plenum was worth 15hp and a nice large radius 90deg bend was worth another 14hp. No AFM as it has a KMS ECU fitted and mapped by Joo at Trackcar Solutions - top bloke.

ACT sell uprated versions of the metal plenum, as well as the carbon ones. Give them a call.

Guys, thanks for your help. This is very much appriciated as out here in Hong Kong, no one does these stuff.

Ian, excuse my ignorance, how does it work without a AFM. Did you have to take your car in for mapping? Can it be done by just letting the engineer know the starting point (96 Chim 500) and then what one has done to the car?

By the way guys, have anyone tried the plenum spacer. Does it work and how much more BHP and torque?
The same questions regarding equal length exhaust manufold?

Winston,

To get rid of the AFM you have to spend money and get rid of anything made by Lucas! If you have it done by an expert, including a full rolling road mapping, the rewards are more power, more torque, better drivability and a general feeling of smugness...

Might be tricky for you given your location.

Hi Ian,
That's what I have been told by my mechanic here. Great to be able to confirm it. This is too much to take on.
I guess I shall stick with original plan. Smooth bore pipe, larger bore AFM, larger bore plenum throttle, plenum spacer.
An ECU to cater for the above. Oh, I have taken out both the pre and main cat. Any comment on the above is most appreciated.

I have another couple of questions if you don't mind. What do you think the existing trumpets will hold up with the above upgrade. Do I need to change them, eg to ACT carbon stuff.
The other item is equal length exhaust manifold! Expensive and are they worth the improvement. Any idea, what sort of improvement can I expect from changing trumpets and exhaust?

Thanks & regards
Winston
