Which bike??

Am lookin at spendin around £300 on adirt jump bike and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

I had a DMR Drone in mind but have had mixed reviews on this bike but was wondering what you all think?

I must admit I haven't kept up-to-date with the latest product releases recently, but quickly searching I found two bikes that may be of interest ...

GT bikes are really well built and offer a decent spec for the price. Alternatively, if you don't mind spending extra cash then look at Specialized

Am now looking at the charge iron has anyone got any opinions on wht to go 4?

I have the GT Chucker 3.0 (the one before the tempest came in), and it comes down to what you want. The tempest is £50 more, but has disc brakes (mech).

I didn't want disc brakes, so I went for the Chucker. If you'd like to ask me anything about it, I'll do my best to help.

Btw, if you go for something like the chucker, don't go out of your way for it, since £299.99 is the standard RRP.

That may well be true, but I'd say the GT isn't a bad starting point, and then replace as and when you:
1. Get more serious
2. Break something

You could buy a second hand bike like the one I had that would be 10x the bike and components for the same price and it wouldnt break and you wouldnt need to upgrade

I couldn't possibly comment. I don't know that much about bikes, but surely £250 for a GT Chucker (what I paid) can't be that bad.

No your right its fine for some things. But you really can snap up brgain strength and components in this market.

I think I will be doing what you're saying, if I ever get more serious, and buy a 2nd hand frame, and then go from there. For now though, just entering riding again, I wanted brand new, set up, no hassle... (Unfortunately when the bike got to me - via the net - it was damaged, so my gears still do not work properly).

I didn't pay too much more than that for my Identi Dr Jekyll. Look in the small ads, and on ebay and bag a bargain. Mines a couple years old, has a few battle scrapes, but is 100% mechanically, and great fun to ride.
