Think I'll be sticking to my normal RS600 even though that looks fun, if not a little crazy.

Standard 600's are a handfull so I can't imagine what a nightmare these things must be!

My sister did the Bloody Mary (I think it was) in a B14 and said that it was quite amusing watching the 600FF whizz along then go splash, get upright whizz along then go splash again every few seconds!

Looks like a bag of tricks that, my mates musto skiff is also quite a busy boat. I like 2 hulls these days go fast with ease Nacra 6.0m goes through big seas without issue.

I had a 600 for a long time, once you learn to tack them and keep the speed on at all times they get easier. The right rig set up for your weight helps, sailed friends boats who were heavier and found them a real handful but own boat was ok.

I know a couple of people with the foiling ones, including the guy who is doing all of the development work for LDC. He makes it look easy but I think he is a 6x 600 national champion and has a fair few 700 titles as well.

Prices seem pretty high to me even if you buy a cheap used boat.

Sounds like fun but not sure I want to go through the swimming period, which must last for a few months.

i broke a load of ribs trying to sail a 600... hadn't been on a dinghy in well over 10yrs, so thought it would be a giggle... how wrong was i!

now back peddled to a laser... nice and simple!

There's a school of thought that says that a foiling moth is easier than a lowrider once you can get it up on the foils...basically your moth is now a metre wide instead of 300mm so therefore more stable.

I wonder if the 600FF is the same...I found the 600 all roly poly when I sailed it, almost like it needed some chines, and to tack I had to bear away like buggery first and get some speed up otherwise it would stop and fall over backwards...

...think I'll be sticking to my nice easy 12 and 18 at the moment though!
