3 day french road trip
Discussion
hi
Can anyonse suggest a good road trip from Calais and finishing in Calais for a saturday, sunday, monday.
we would be looking for no motorways, great scenery and good places to eat and drink - nothing flash !
Probably looking to do 250 miles a day maybe a bit less - ( we are on bikes and am going with my old man and he is getting on a bit )
Any feedback much appreciated.
Cheers

Difficult without motorways because north west France is less than inspirational and a long way from the other bits.
I would use the motorway to get to the Ardennes/Alsace/the Black Forest, or even to the Alps or the Dordogne/Lot/Tarn regions, but this would severely limit your fun time.
Alternatively, use the motorway to blast down to Rouen (2hrs) and then tour along the Normandy and Brittany coasts. Following the Seine from Rouen to Honfleur to Deauville is pleasant, there are some staggering suspension bridges and cute river ferries. The Route de Cidre is pretty and not too lengthy. And you can aim for Mont St Michelle.
Final suggestion would be to do an historical tour of the First World War monuments and memorials.
