Gamer's Chairs?
Discussion
Mornin' all.
Competing in the PH GT5 time trials (PSN ID Ariel-Atom-245), has highlighted a major issue with my lounge seating / driving position. As the sofa is too far from the telly, I'm using a hard, wooden dining room chair and I reckon it's costing me a tenth or so
As such, I've been looking to get a gamer's chair that I can still use my Logitch lap mount steering wheel with. First up, the wife has veto'd any kind of bucket seat! Apparently, it doesn't go with the lounge ambience / style. Go figure. Anyway, I've started looking laterally and have found this:

What do people think? Do any of you guys have (or have you seen) anything that does the job, but doesn't go against wifey type principals and home decoration?! Any ideas welcome...

Looks ok, but a bit pricey for what, a glorified bean bag?
Offer to buy the woman shoes and sneak in a GameRacer seat while she's out...
"Yeah, had it for ages dear, it was in the garage..."
Haven't seen anything like a good substitute, so I'm stuck with my office chair
I should add, I play racing games on the PC, not on a console

Can you use a wheel & foot pedals with that? It looks a bit low and might make legs a bit outstretched? Or am I wrong?George - No offense to your workmanship (which I'm sure is 200% better than mine!!), but such a chair will not pass the wife / living room furniture test!! I need something that is in keeping with the newly decorated living room, hence looking at a posh benbag and not a mounted Recarro seat, etc!

If Man U can have car seats in their dugout why can't you have one in your livingroom? Tell her someone famous has one and that everyone on Desperate housewives have one and that she would be missing out. I played GT5 last night on 2 bean bags and pedals rammed upagainst a wall and sorely missed my PC office set up, that and the fact the game is dissapointing.

lol - fair enough! i must confess that the seat looks quite home made - I go to bording school and have the chair in my room along with a steering wheel and pedals (connected to rFactor) and my friends love it!all I need to do now is find a way of making it quickly colapsable.. maybe a few hinges
good luck to you finding a good seat - that woolworths one looks quite good!

I'm getting me one of these ... http://www.beanbagbazaar.co.uk/gamer-chair-beanbag...
Yep I saw that one. Thought it looked OK, but wasn't sure about the height of the leg / foot end & whether it'll be OK with the pedals... will get some measurements and see if it works....Regarding the Man U chairs, yep, they're great! Would like one of those - if it's goodenough for Sir Alex, it's good enough for me!

I would like one too, but the wheel and peddles need to be mounted, dont think there is any point otherwise. Same problem with the missus though, it would need to be removable and storable elswhere.
I agree, the missus would need to be mounted also!I would highly recommend you get your chair, mosty of the top PC Sim gamers have one with "Pimped" G25, ie different wheel, pro pedals and lengthened Gera stick.
