Hmm, tasteful spoiler.

Won't let my OH see that colour - she has this notion that every car has to be purple! ...Must be a simpler existince in the female mind.

I will grant you the colour is slightly unusual but so are rear lights, the number plates and the shelf on the boot installed I am quite sure for the parking of beer glasses in the summer. Its quite a shadow of its former self no gearbox, no trim , no dashboard (i've got that) recaro non standard seat, engine was going today not to a TVR. Quite sad really

Hi we bought the car with a mate (tuscan owner) and intend to turn it into a track car, we are thinking of installing a rover v8, roll cage etc. We will go to view/collect the car next week. Any feedback on it (especially chassis condition) would be appreciated

Its been a week ro two - but there was no trim, door glass, carpets or decent seats (but that shouldnt be a problem for a track car. Theres no dashboard or instruments again no problem for you I guess. the body seemed OK under that amazing paint scheme. If I remeber correctly no gearbox and I was told the engines was going to be removed as sold. Didnt check the chassis as such but again if its going to be track car no problems for a bodyoff and chassis repair at worst. Its good it will remain as a runner rather than being broken for spares. Good luck (wear your sun glasses when you see it!!!)

Second thoughts - the chassis on an S2 will not take the rover V8 without modifications. Other threads indicate the work is reasonably significant jump with caution, a search on here might help

my previous tvr was an s2 so i know that chassis wise the v8s was slighlty different to the S2 cars, but not sure whether the modifications where mainly strengthening the chassis or just increasing the wheelbase area.

If its the latter then maybe wheel spacers and different trailing arms could be ok, along with different engine mounts. Some S2 cars have had the cosworth engine in, which gives same power and torque as the v8. Hence i think the S2 chassis should cope with the v8

Take a look at Barkychocs recent thread about power steering: The photos show some of the differences of a V8S chassis in the underbonnet area.
v8_simon has put a 4.6 V8 in his, so he may be able to tell you more?
