Best looking modern aircraft?
Discussion
Depends how modern you want to go...
I think the McDonnell Douglas F4 Phantom is a fantastic looking aircraft... it's not new though!
But it was fit for purpose, was one of the first aircraft (alongside the Lightning) that was properly capable of supersonic flight and was a true multipurpose aeroplane..
The RAF used it on Ark Royal with an extended nose leg, (due to our ships having shorter platform for takeoff - higher angle of attack on the wing) and of course with Rolls Royce Engines, instead of the american Allison's.
It was the first aircraft I ever saw doing a Derry Roll, I think it was the RAF St Mawgan air display when we were on holiday in Cornwall... but it was majestic....
I'll get my coat then....

You should have said "best looking aircraft!"
Given a modern aircraft takes about 15 years from initial design to delivery...new ones are a bit thin on the ground...
My Father in Law has been working on some new Avionics for some Helicopter for the entire time I've known my girlfriend, now wife, now mother of my 2 children...and thats 12 years...and it's still not bloody launched!

A modern incarnation of a classic design - the Pitts Model 12

Tried that particular example for size this afternoon - hoping to get airborne in it in the next week or so.

F-104 Starfighter, surely?

The aerial equivilant of the 996 GT2!!
I remember Capt. Eric Brown describing the 104 as a 'Nasty Little Aeroplane'. I don't think he liked it.
