wavey C'mon the Herts/N. London Massive - fancy blowing the cobwebs away and joining the neighbours in Mid-Essex this Sunday?

It goes like this... Meet South Mimms usual place in car park between 10:00 - 10:30 to depart around 10:30 for second meeting point about 35 minutes later (join M25 east at S. Mimms to exit at A12) . Meet other convoy there at 11:00 and depart at 12:00 for final destination where a warm greeting, more Tiv-Talk, drinks, coffee, snacks and optional carvery await you! This month the Porsche Owners Club are visiting us as well so we need a good turnout of TVR's to fly the flag!

The weather is forecast reasonable, 8 - 12 degrees with no probability of rain until at least late afternoon. So be there - you know it makes sense!!driving Nick.

thumbup Great, Keith - look forward to seeing that lovely Tamora again too. I guess you know where the White Hart is.... Don't worry if you run a bit late - we don't leave there until 12:00 to go on to the final venue.

There is something very ironic about this to me. My chim is now 2-3 weeks from being repaired but i have a boxster as a replacement! Hmmm May come along!

I just KNEW it was repairable!! Great stuff thumbup And there's something even more ironic - Timja, whose Chim is also being repaired, ALSO has a Boxster and also may come along!! At this rate there'll be more Porkers than Tivs biggrin

No serious damage so very repairable. Insurance still wrote it off though. Doing a private repair. I have to say that Europa Consultants (AnniesDad) have been so good and even offered to step in and authorise repairs BEFORE liability had be accepted by the other party. These guys are non-fault accident assist and i cant recommend them highly enough. If you have an accident that is not your fault give them a call before your insurance put their numpties on the case! PlasticMan Dave Hillis is rebuilding the bodywork for me and is a top bloke too. It has taken 8 weeks to get to this point and a bit of an emotional rollercoster, but all has come good, i have had a great offer from my insurers and the car will be much better than before as a result. Albeit cat D registered but that means nothing to anyone who really knows about these cars.

Hope to see you Sunday. beer

Good news in bucket loads Jon. Aside from the Cat. D issue - which as you say, won't mean a whole lot to an eventual buyer of your car - you could come out of this with an even nicer looking car. There's often a silver lining to these things, but they're hard to seee in the first few weeks.

I've heard nothing but glowing reports from users of these accident aftercare specialists and I now know three Chim owners who have all been provided with a Boxster this year alone!

Anyway - hope to see you tomorrow and hope too that answering your post now bumps this up the list again because so far, there are TWO Boxsters on the list for the run out from South Mimms to Essex and only my TVR!!! frown Nick.

Thanks Nick. Would be nice to get some more TVR's!! I have done the South Mimms run to the mid essex meet a few times now and it is a great trip. For those that dont know much about the Mid Essex meet have a look for the thread under the general TVR section. Most folk there meet up at the White Hart in Chelmsford and then convoy 10 miles along country lanes and through small towns to a golf course. This is a GREAT convoy and typically 20-30 odd cars strong in this weather.

Come along!! driving

We drove back mid-afternoon in a convoy of 3; Chim - Cerb - Boxster cross country avoiding the M 25 to see how it would work out going that way TO Mid-essex meets. But I don't think so.... Loads of irritating roundabouts and industrial parts of the A414. It's either M25/A12 or look again at the map!

Good to see you Jon and looking forward to seeing that Chim back on the road. Nick.

Hi Nick,

I personally thought the way back was ok, a bit more too do as in driving rather than just miles of M25.

Hi Russ,

Yup - you're probably right. I thought that too..... that is until I got p'd off with nowhere to overtake, sitting in the swirling mucky spray coming off that 40 foot truck for ages in the rain!!

Maybe we'll try it again next time GOING to Essex. Have to allow an hour though, based on times yesterday. Anyway, I guess we can still leave S. Mimms at 10:15 to arrive at the WH at well before the convoy onwards from there.

I'll be away for the May one but certainly back for June. So if you fancy it in May, leave you and/or Jon/Chimjunkie to organise and see you hopefully in June.

Cheers, thumbup Nick.
