I bought a Powershot G9 to complement my 5D, I just noticed that CS2 will not recognise the new CR2 file format, nor will Vista 64 bit Photo Gallery. The only progs that do seem to be Picasa and Zoombrowser.
I downloaded the latest codec from canon but still CS2 will not work.
I read somewhere that an upgrade to CS3 would be needed but I really object to this as I have invested in more than one copy of CS2 for my various machines.
Can anybody point me to a fix

From what I've seen most solutions seem to revolve using some other command line program to render the RAW file to a format CS2 can use. Not ideal....

ACD Pro will work with the CR2 files, download a 30 day trial and see what you think. biggrin

I've taken to using Adobe Bridge to view my RAW files as Vista 64 just won't do it.

I had issues with CS2 and raw images from my Canon 40D, they wanted me to buy CS3 to solve the problem. I suggest Lightroom, does the job beautifully.

I downloaded the latest Adobe Camera Raw software, it warns you that the download will not work with CS2 however. After download there are two zipped up components, the camera raw update and quite seperate , the DNG converter.
I discarded the CR software but the DNG converter works as a standalone utility and it very neatly converts the G9 raw files into DNG files which CS2 etc read perfectly.
Simple really but Id avoided the download initially in fear that it would corrupt my CS2.
