Hey Guys,

Just thought i'd pass this on - I bought my PS3 just over a month ago and bought an HDMI cable with it, so never checked the SCART socket. When I took the console to a mate's house and tried to use it, it had no output whatsoever. Sony will fix it under warranty apparently but it might be an idea to check yours out whilst it's still under warranty.

Annoyingly, Dixons only do a straight exchange within 28 days and when i took mine in, i'd had it 29 days, so instead of a painless exchange, i have to arrange to send it off to Sony who will, apparently, take anything up to 60 days to repair it. frown

Not trying to tell you how to suck eggs but are you sure its broken? The PS3 doesn't output HDMI and scart signal at the same time, so you need to set it before you change to a different TV, or hold the power button to force it into set up mode.

Had this prob after updating a friends PS3 at my house. When he got it home and plugged it into his standard def TV he had no picture as I'd changed it to HDMI output and forgot to put it back.

Yup, I thought mine was trashed too the other week smile

When using a different TV, you need to configure the PS3 for it, otherwise you won't see anything on the screen. Do this by firing up the PS3 but holding the on button for a few seconds, it should then give a 'beep' and display in basic mode, allowing you to configure for any TV...

ps. Not just scart either, I have to do this when swapping between two near-identical Panny Vieras both 32" but a year difference between the two..!
