is there such a thing as a map of the country showing the location of all the garages that service TVRs?

Now that's a good idea !

I think it could be done with Google Maps maybe? (or something)

Including the Indies that most people North of the border would also help. There's been a few threads asking where people can take their cars. A good Idea.

I can create and host this if there is enough interest.

Would need location (streetname, town, or postcode) and ideally link to the website for each entry if people want to let me know who they use.

moulder, without wanting to hijack your offer, this has fairly good commercial 'legs'.

i can imagine most garages would want to be on it, and it's probably applicable for other marques, especially at the smaller volume end of the market. could be worth putting a post on PH and asking garages to participate, with the first 10 on it for free for the 1st year.

Sounds like a good idea, could the programmer of such site also add a star rating for all garages concerned, no actual posting of comments as it could lead to trouble.

Just a simple star rating that members can only vote once for each garage, that way anyone with an axe to grind can't manipulate ratings.

Looks reasonably up-to-date, Top Gear Automotive and Track V Road are on there, both are fairly new indies.

No reason why this wouldn't do for what we want if there are lots of contributions, and Clevor Trevor don't get the hump with the influx of requests!

Would still be nice to have a site with ratings/experiences on, though these seem highly subjective and seem to vary customer to customer so not sure how this would be achieved.

This is quite straight forward to replicate ourselves in google maps, then anyone can add/update the info

TVR Garages

Clicking on an individual push pin, and then clicking the 'more info' link then allows you to enter reviews and a rating.

I think the businesses my have to register themselves on Google first probably at a cost, APM aren't searchable on Google maps

I don't think that's right Woody, my own company just popped up and I know for a fact we haven't payed google a bean!

Edited to say: I've just checked the google small print. You're right in syaing that companies must register to pop up in the search, but apparently this is free of charge.
That aside, it is still possible for users to add a 'pushpin' themslves and enter the details manually.

Isn't there a recommendations section within PH where people can grade the garage/indy they are recommending? Would that be a good resource for the map?

This map doesn't have X-Works Services in Kirkham, Lancashire (ex-factory service managers Heath Briggs/Paul Forrest), my local (and excellent) service garage. thumbup
