Probably a daft M6(/M5) question!
Discussion
Had the M6 about 2 months.
Always use it in 'M' mode set to P500 Sport.
Just wondering if using the 400 mode actually makes it any more economical for local running about?
Anyone actually tried it? Haven't bothered myself as I feel that if it wasn't, I would have been robbed of the extra power for no benefit!

Mine tends to bunny hop a little in traffic sometimes in 500 mode - it doesn't seem to in 400.
I leave it in 400 if trundling through town, just in case it makes a difference to the economy (it claims it does in the manual). I I've to say I've never noticed any difference in its average mpg figures though.

Is the throttle quite sensitive in P500? Bearing in mind it doesnt have much travel yet has 507bhp to deliver smoothly.
There are 2 500hp modes - P500 and P500 sport. In P500 mode the throttle is quite linear and has alot of travel. In P500 Sport mode it is mapped much more agressively making it quite sensitive. As always with these things, you soon get used to whatever mode you travel in and your driving style adjusts to suit. It's a bit like the sport button on the E46 M3.espresso said:

For some reason the UK never got a manual version! Even though there are probably 80% manual drivers in the UK comapred to 80% Auto drivers in the US??? Sure there must be a technical reason. Anywsy - good point on the round town driving in traffic - I might give that a try.
