How do you know his boot wasn't full?
How do you know he wasn't just driving 1 mile so there was not point?
Do you actually know any of the circumstances?
Thought not!

Ouch - harsh response to a friendly banter message. If I was only driving one mile with the boot full - I would leave the roof at home - can't see it pi55ing down with rain today.

I make a habit of shooting a scathing look at any soft tops I see with the roof up on a nice day, and just knowlingly accept any that I might get up I have my roof up due to exceptional circumstances (can't think of any ATM though!).

OK, apologies for the harsh response! Friday afternoon, pub lunch and all that!

I only work 3 miles from home so sometimes can't be bothered to take the roof off when I know I really should!

One thing that does annoy my though is soft tops with the roof down but the windows up! Why?

Something to do with the Crap window motors, takes a week to get them back up

Hot Weather Mode: no roof, windows down
Cool Weather Mode: no roof, windows up
Winter Weather Mode: half roof, windows up or down depending on sun intensity
Thunder&Lightning Mode: roof up, windows down = Demisting Mode

I have been trying to pursuade a friend of mine that he really does not want an MX5 but actually a TVR.

However the other day I mentioned how nice it was to take the roof off in the silly heat of the moment and the reply was:
"Well I would have the roof on and the air con on for a day like this"

Suffice to say I am now pursuading him that he wants the MX5 not a TVR anymore.

I don't always take the roof of my Tuscan if I'm only going up the road, or am in a hurry, or even if I just fancy a quieter journey.

Also, when it's really hot and sunny, I'll sometimes leave the roof on and turn the air-con on full, especially if I've been out in the sun all day and don't fancy getting even more burnt!

It's my car, and I'll use it as I want!

Saying that, my Westfield race car has no roof, doors or windscreen, and I have driven it in the middle of a snow blizzard. Which was nice.
