Ordering the trans cable brackets today, Roger Brown told me about the new R&P they have just started selling. Here's the info. Picture at the bottom. I have no affiliation with CMS, other than being a satisfied customer. I thought this info might be some benefit to the community...
After much development and at last, 3.10/10:31 ring and pinions for Porsche G50 5 speed normal (E.g. G50/03) and turbo (E.g. G50/52) transaxles are now available and are in stock at California Motorsports - exclusive dealers for Albins Off Road Gear products to suit Porsche in the USA and Canada.
Historically only non-standard individual gear sets have been an option when re-gearing a Porsche transaxle to mate to a V8. Truth of the matter is that standard/stock gearing is not ideal for most all around V8 street use-in most cases. This is because the power curves are much different in a flat six, different between normal and turbo flat sixes, different depending on displacement, year, make and model. Anyone who has compared Porsche's gearing to GM's already knows this.
Normally 1st gear and top gear are way too low meaning 1st is almost unusable and top gear revs are too high for cruising.

Not only will the 3.10 move the gears in the right direction, it’s a heavier duty ring and pinion and will increase the strength rating of the transaxle in that specific area as well.
Albins crown wheel and pinions feature the same “German cut” as Porsche as they are produced on a Klingelnberg spiral bevel gear cutting machine, not like an “American cut” from a Gleason machine. Rest assured these tested and are proven high quality ring and pinions and are not the first ones to come off the machine.

That is real progress ( at long long last! ) and I think that will be a cost effective answer to many peoples gripes with regards to different ratios. I am with Ken in as much as I too have changed my complete ratio set and am very happy with the results but if this C&P had been available back when I was shopping around, I would have considered it for sure, thanks for posting

You are meaning too short for road driving right? Coming out of Russell Bend at Snett behind a 911 Cup car, you wish you has a much closer box!!But if I was all road or even a Vmaxer - I'd be up for this mod like a shot!!

Pete, yes mainly for the road and top speed runs but it would be a good mod for your new engine help keep it in the middle of your torque range for longer before having to shift gears .
Simon, know what you mean. But my engine - pre death, really came on song from 5.5k to 6.5K, anything outside that and it's compromised. I'm no mathematician, but I need a box for my needs that'll only drop a grand in 4th and 5th.It all boils down to what you want it for of course. I know I'll be razzing alone going to track days at 4K when other with longer gears will be saving petrol

Love someone to come along and work out the best track, road and vmax ratios to see how they compare........
I guess its always a bit of a compromise between whats best for track and for road , my own engine develops all its torque between 2500 rpm and 5500 which makes it great on the road but it would run out of puff on the track !!! what we need is a engine with VVT to make torque all through the rev range !!! failing that ....a 10 speed box
