For those of you who don't venture into the murky world that is Pie & Piston here's the sorts I took yesterday of the RAF and their 80th birthday flight. I just stuck the 50mm lens on and hoped I'd guessed the right position. Didn't do too badly but in hindsight I'd be south of the river on the other side of the bridge. Ho hum, all part of the learning process....

Just before Tower Bridge

Same pictures but a crop of the front Hawks

Crop of the Typhoons

Over the top of the bridge

Oh so that is what they looked like smile

I was running late and got to St Pauls by 1pm only to hear the roar as they flew past and some of the trailing red, white and blue smoke when I turned the corner. Not a plane in sight. laugh

For an RAF 80th Birthday flypast you'd think they could scrape up more than two kinds of aeroplane.

Whilst you lot were either watching or missing the RAF's 80th anniversary yesterday, I was watching their 90th anniversary flypast. Greetings from the future.

If you're from the future then my pension is worth more than yours!

I know a chap who has an original WW1 RFC tunic in his collection. Apparently it's the most valuable thing he owns!
