From what I could discern from the book Autodrome and from poking around the locality: here is a little look at the now defunct Grand Prix circuit at Reims-Gueux in the champagne region of France.

My post is here:

The video lap we filmed is there too. Its a bit of a muddle with the different layouts that the circuit had.

Hope you enjoy, it's well worth a trip, and that's a brilliant book.

Hoping to visit Reims on way to Dijon in June.

And yes, Autodrome is a fantastic book.

Definitely a pilgrimage for anyone heading roughly in that direction. Can almost hear the racing cars roaring past when stood in front of the stands.

So the lap we took wasn't strictly a circuit, but a muddle of the two configurations.

Yep. The new circuit (red line) just dies away in the middle of a field before Muizon

That explains why it says 'no entry' on the entrance to the old bit of circuit then!

You certainly had the weather for it!

When I was there most recently they have done a job of tidying the area up a bit, cutting the grass and making some of the buildings to the rear a little more accessible.

No - someone else 'borrowed' the photo's! They have removed them from their Hire Car website now! Cheeky devils!

I was tempted to photoshop some nice mountain scenery into the background! wink

the book i have is entitled "Classic Motorsport Routes" by Richard Meaden.

"30 legendary routes you can drive today"

... only seven are outside of europe.

great book.

The book S3am is referring to is called Autodrome by SS Collins and Gavin Ireland. Reims is on the front cover and the rest of the book details old circuits that are now defunct:

Brooklands
Monza
Reims
The 'Ring Sudschleife
Crystal Palace
Keimola
Masarykring
Avus
Linas Montlhery

Buy it - its superb. You'll sit for hours looking at the photos. Amazon Linky
