Coulor for a TUscan V6
Discussion
Hi Guys
Following Le Mans last year and the over enthusiastic use of stickers, the Tuscan has gone in for its first paint job since it left the factory in 1970.
I was going to go for Orange again as per original spec, but I am also dicing with a pearl white with Red Stripe....any thoughts?
I have also tried to research into any "famous" racing Tuscans of the period but havent come up with much.
O
btw - I can spell colour - I just cant type wery vell. O

I think the old silver (Silver Fox I think it was called) looks good, but then so does the '70s orange if it's done well.
Everybody has different tastes, and to be honest I don't think too much originality comes into play these days with Tuscans/Vixens, as most are developed some way by the owners.
A far cry from having an MGB in my youth and worrying if it had the wrong grille.

I admit silver can look great and to be honest I nearly went for silver but before the Tusc I had a silver Elan and it seemed to exaggerate the multitude of sins of an old fibreglass shell. I went for red on the Elan and with hardly any attention to the body apart from a respray, it looked much better.
I suppose then, I went for the easy option.
Thats why so many are yellow and lighter shades of primary colours.I suppose then, I went for the easy option.
The rule of thumb is that the darker the colour the better the prep work has to be. My racer is a stunning custom mix colour but doesn't pass close scrutiny untill after the stickers are applied.
I think Vixens do suit yellow and red, I am just sick of seeing the same thing at shows.
Craig Polleys 1800S looks wonderful in a jaguar deep blue.

Mines gone in to paint today too! Was thinking about Old English white but the paint shop guys are pushing me to use Ford Diamond white.
My thoughts were that the slightly off white shade might set of the shiny bits and other details well but having not seen a vixen in any white in the flesh it is dfficult to choose.
Has anyone got any opinions on pure white or olde english shades for a vixen?
Cheers
Paul.
