Although a regular reader I have not been a prolific contributor to this forum.
But yesterday my son and I spent a day at Silverstone with the Top Cats Racing Team people and their Tuscan race car.
Now I'm no TVR virgin having owned and driven a lot of TVR road cars but we had one heck of a sensational day.
The day was well organised, the guys in the team friendly and helpful. Our instructor, Charlotte Osborn was fantastic. This petite and charming lady grabs the Tuscan by the throat and uses all its huge
track capability to the full. But best of all she is a terrific instructor and by the afternoon (by which time we had learnt the car and the circuit a bit better)our confidence had grown and she was encouraging us to extract more and more from the car. I have no idea what speeds were reached but screaming the revs out of the AJP engine in 4th and then 5th down Hanger straight and holding the pedal to the metal (as they say) until we seemed to be almost on top of the corner before starting to brake (hard!!) is unforgetable.
As is taking Copse at a pace that seemed to defy the laws of physics and gravity - and getting those corners just right (well once or twice anyway) - just amazing.
I have no connection with these guys other than being a very satisfied customer who will definately be going back.
As for reliability the car ran on the track from 10am to 5pm with only pauses to cool and change drivers without a hiccup.
Oh and Charlotte if you read this sorry about the 360 or was it 720!!!

I have to agree that the TopCats team are superb. Although i haven't had a day with them, i live about 3 miles away from their workshop and popped in just to have a look and they were incredibly polite and offered to show me around their Mantis, 911RS and Tuscan racer. Shame i was in a rush so couldn't spend much time there.
