I would like to say HELLO to all you Ultima guys and girls, the guys obviously with the GTR's, and the girls with the Can-am's,(noting previous threads) and was just wondering who is actually going to attend Stoneleigh ? as it appears after Kylemrushall's thread that there seems to be a lot of cars with mechanical faults, is this the norm for the Ultima ? are there any completed cars out there that run, because on the forum they are either being built, or engines taken apart, I am hoping to attend Stoneleigh to view my favourite affordable car of all time, but am afraid of being let down, can anybody say they are actually going for definate ?

Rest assured that there will be a good number turn up, as each year there are more than the previous (or though I suppose I could be proved wrong). Perhaps we can start a list of attendees here, so here goes:

Saturday (Sunday 4th)

1. Pb3 – GTR (Yellow with green stripes)

Sunday (Monday 5th)

1. Pb3 – GTR (Yellow with green stripes) (but only if I camp over again)

As regards the numbers in repair etc, again I think that is quite normal as the majority of cars are taken off the road during the winter months to make mods and perform general servicing (plus the odd engine rebuild here and there). This is the first year that I've kept mine taxed, but even now I am making subtle changes prior to getting on the road properly in April.

I will be going on the 4th sunday, and my car has 16,000 miles on the clock, regular routine maintenance and you shouldn't go wrong, its when you start hankering for BIG horsepower and playing about, that things go wrong, otherwise I would say the small block chevy was as reliable as anything else out there.

I've added a new thread (a Wiki) that can be updated to maintain an up-to-date attendance list. Perhaps this thread can be used for excuses and such like wink

I have no transaxle in the car at the moment! Waiting on parts. I hope to fit the box next week if the blooming parts arrive! Need an MOT and new rear tyres but I should make it in time! If the weather looks good I fancy staying over this year. I've added my name to the list. Here's hoping I make it.

Regards Dave
