ut if you had to go to the desert island [strains of Eric Coates' "Sleepy Lagoon"] which lens (or other item) could you really not do without??????
Well, you could save the body, but it would be useless without a lens.

Or you could save a lens, which would be useless without a body. Or a card. Or a battery.

So I think you'll have to adjust the rules a bit!

ETA: Your D2X will be handy for knocking down coconuts though hehe

If I had to choose one lens it'd be my Canon 35mm f1.4. On a full frame camera it's just wide enough for my liking, and is as sharp as you'd like. Tough as old boots too smile

Well given that you had everything else to do the job, which lens, huh? Going to plump for the 17-55?

Nikkor 50mm f1.4... guarantees a result in any light. Tough as old boots and compact. And cheap.

There is no way I could live without my 28-70 f/2.8 - utterly superb in all conditions. It almost never leaves my camera. The only problem is it is so good, I find I can't put up with the shortcomings of other lenses!
