Hi all, just got back from South Africa, and took many photos of the game whilst on safari...

As I would really like to improve I am looking for a bit of CC to help develop my technical and artistic skills.

Many thanks for any comments, Ben

Really like them all, great set of photos, nice one. 1, 2 & 6 are my favourites, and the reflection one is also very effective.

Thanks for the comments all - I do like the idea of flipping the reflection shot, and the p-shop of the rhino certainly pulls the big guy out!

The location was a private game reserve called Lalibela which is off the N2 East of Port Elizabeth which is part of the Eastern Cape, an amazing place with cracking rangers that really know the reserve well and where the animals are most likely to be - hence the close up pictures!

To be honest I found my 70-300 was too long in some situations - and probably missed out on a load of wide location and setting shots which incorporated the herd shots...

Love 1* and 2, and the lion and rhino are really interesting.

  • I took about 300 elephant shots in Thailand and I don't think I got one that good! frown
