How can I keep my TV on when I'm driving? E46 M3
Discussion
Might be worth calling www.prestige-audio.co.uk as I know they have done this before.
hallo anjum,
it's a nice idea, or so I thought. I have experience driving an x5 with tv on all the time. I realised it was dangerous, but in effect I was listening to a finance channel, until they cut to footage of a guy on a motorcycle having an accident........
No matter how hard you try, you will end up being distracted.
BOR says no.
Regards

Please don't be surprised if a biker kicks your wing mirror off if they see you doing this. This is absolute idiocy. How the hell can you concentrate on the road and maintain any form of peripheral vision if you're watching the TV? Get on with driving the car rather than mincing around in it.
Anjum speak to this man Tim on www.mobilecentre.co.uk
He has just sent me my kit for my M5 so my "SON" can watch TV in the front or the back of the car.
The wifes X5 is also having the same thing done, it takes 30 seconds to install and cheap!
Luckily im a SkyTV man so theres nothing I ever watch on the normal 5 channels hence why I don't drive and watch.

Jus had my X5 done at London Car Radio in Nottingham! - they also just put rear headrest screens, DVD & PS2 in it!
However I can DEFO say its VERY dangerous! - only had Charles Angels 2 on for 5mins and nearly ran in the back of a car! - now the TV screen dont get used in the front anymore!!!

Handy when stuck in taffice doing 1 mph around hammersmith at the mo......
Listen to the radio then, Sir.
You're not the sole individual on the road that refuses to pay complete attention to his driving.
Imo, your intention is negligence.
You're just trolling, Right?

If i was a copper i'd pull you instantly. Tv in the back when you're driving is ok, tv inside the driver's vision is inexcusable. The human eye is drawn to movement!
If the tv in the front only works with the handbrake applied, fair enough - Watching tv while stuck in traffic is ok, but doing it on the move is NOT.

I had mine done on a previous M3......worked very well, but defo' wouldn't do it again......I had it purely so my girlfriend could watch Coro' etc but no matter how hard you concentrate, your eyes will wander to the screen from time to time. A second is all it takes to cause a mulitiple pile up/ run a pedestrian over etc.
I did a fair few miles with mine on with no incidents but a few close calls! Left the current one as is from factory...not worth the risk IMO.
