Just joined the club so hopefully will get the current issue through the door pretty soon, but as im looking to get a chimaera which is a few years old now,id be very interested in getting hold of some previous copies of the mag, anyone got some lying around they have finished with and would like to pass on to a prospective new owner, any information i could glean from these would be most invaluable before i take the plunge......mainly chim articles im intersted in,but anything tvr will be of interest right now, can offer beer tokens in exchange of course.

Forget sprint, you need to

1. Get the steve heath bible 2nd edition
2. Get over to www.chimaerapages.com (there's a basic buyers guide and other info)
3. Become familiar with what a good chassis looks like
4. Ask lots of questions on here
5. Get someone to look it over who really knows what they are doing
6. Did I mention the chassis ?
7. Buy. Grin. Enjoy. Never look back :-)

Also go to your local monthly TVRCC region mtg which you can look up on the TVRCC website. Talk to owners, look at some cars etc.

don't listen to this fella! he clearly needs to go to specsavers! biggrin

chimps are tons better than griffs... and if you were looking for a return on invest you'd be better off buying a tent in Dubai.

if you really want to change your life, have susperstar status with everyone that sees you... get a cerb! hehe

job done...

Yup, agree with this.......
Go look at a few ...the owners will be only too happy to advise what to look out for and I'm sure some will have kept their Sprints and may well loan them out to you.

You will also get advice on local dealers, indies etc.

Happy hunting and if you fancy a blat out in the summer, come and see us at Mid Essex......

Not buying the car as an investment,so thats that one out of the way,out of the two the Griff does not look as nice as the chim to me,as they are almost identical cars thats why im going for the chim, take on board the other worthwhile advice, just looking to get some extra reading material as knowledge is power as they say.....

Then I'd buy Steve Heath's Bible. I bought mine before I started looking at Griff's and it was a very good investment.

Even if you don't end up buying a TVR you'll be able to sell it for good money. In fact I've even seen them fetch more money than new on Ebay !

With regards to copies of Sprint, we have pretty much every copy since we joined in 2004 and I was just wondering what I should do with them. If you'd like them, you're welcome to them. You'll have to come and collect them from Northampton though as there's no way I'm lugging that lot up to the Post Office hehe

A couple of copies have front page missing from where our puppy baby ate them.

I've written three TVR 'bibles' so far: —

The TVR S series (now in 2nd Edition)
The TVR Wedges
The TVR Griffith & Chimaera (now in 2nd edition).

The Cerbera 'bible' is well underway.

As Steve didn't directly answer your question I'm afraid there isn't a 'Tuscan bible'.

Rigga, West Mids TVRCC is very active, the RO owns a splendid Chim and I'm certain they will be of great help. I suggest contacting them. Dave

I don't know what the market is like for chims, but I got a tremendous response placing a wanted ad for an S in Sprint.

...Unfortunately it only made it to print after I'd bought one, but the principle still holds! If you're going to join anyway (and hence it's free) I'd say placing an ad was a very good use of 2 minutes on the website.

Cool. I've owned both and the Chimaera is easier to live with. [well, I would say that now] The later cars are the same underneath. If your in South B'ham area at anytime you're more than welcome to pop in or go to the TVRCC meet and talk to Steve Guest. Good luck and KEEP THE KTM!!!!!

Im on the birmingham solihull border and plan on popping along to a meet to have a look see/chat just to make my mind up

Unfortunatly the superduke has to go to part fund a second car purchase, its been on my mind for a while to sell it,and the prospect of owning a tvr has finally tipped the balance, probably the best bike ive ever owned in terms of fun factor, plus couldnt fit a car and the bike in the garage together anyway
