Help ! Just about to start renovating the outriggers on my 99 Chim and have luckily obtained the use of a 2 post lift. Problem is I can't work out where to place the feet of the ramp under the chassis. Can anyone assist in very lay-man terms and try to be as specific as possible as I don't want to get it wrong and I havn't got that much technical knowledge !! I thought it was going to be a 4 post lift and I would have just driven the lady on and that would have been it... WRONG !

Ideally pick up up on the main (square) chassis rails, with suitable protection to avoid damaging them. If that's not possible because the lift doesn't have enough reach, you can pick it up by the lateral tubes at the front and rear of the outriggers as long as those tubes are in good condition (but they often aren't) and you spread the load sufficiently to avoid buckling them.

Edit to add: If you know as little about this as your post suggests, are you sure you're competent to use that lift? Seriously, if you make a mistake you can do a lot of damage and put yourself in danger.

Thanks Peter,

There is someone far more competent than I in attendance but he wasnt sure where to place the lifting arms and as you know its very difficult to see underneath so I opted to post this just to make sure I dont make a hash of it. Thanks for your reply and work shall commence ( hopefully) on Monday.
