Nearly done and we have gone for triple adjustables.Hope Graham has worked his magic as it's not going to be cheap, power is nothing without control.

Will let you know how it handle soon.

Next job some nice new sticky tyres, plenty of tread on the old ones but fancy some new ones.

What suggestions do we all have.

Thanks

Kumho v70 are a pure track tyre or Michelin PS2 are good as a all round tyre but not as sticky as the Kumho's

Think with all this power we need sticky. Are you saying V70 are track only due to wet weather characteristics.

Ist test with new shocks was carried out today by Graham at GHE.

Having just recently set up a 997GT3RS he has confirmed that the Ultima is now neck and neck with the 997 and there is nothing to choose between them.

No hint of understeer on turn in and fantastic grip from the rear exiting corners and also under hard acceleration.

The car hardly picks up on lines/dips/rutts etc and skips over nasty bumps as if they do not exist.

The car is now quite happy to be driven with one hand if required.

All this was done in damp conditions so it should be pretty awsome in the dry.

Should get it back Saturday and look forward to my first drive on the new set up.

The shocks are Grahams own design and were manafactured after several weeks of calculations both in his head and on the computor.

He is a handling God and a pretty good peddler and has spent several seasons as the lead driver in the Silk Cut Rothmans Jaguar competing in historic events.

Other past times include running cars in the BTCC going back as far as the Mondeos and Cavaliers up to more recent versions including one of the ex Halfords Integras.

I wonder if these shocks could reduce the 0-100-0 etc

If they are significantly heavier than OE shocks and you were to push the car over a very high cliff then it should in theory accelerate more quickly than before and the stopping distance will be dramatically reduced for sure yeshehe

At least the vertical drop and sudden stop will avoid flat spots on the tyres, not too sure what it will do to the front end though.

Guess that would make 0-100-STOP!!! About 5.3seconds then.

Anyway it's booked into Steve 1st of June so he could straighten it up a bit.

They (GHE) are quite close to me I was off yesterday, didn't hear any 'rummblings' driving though.....He used to do most of the Cosworth testing on the bypass!

Actauly weight has no bearing on vertical acceleration, removal of drag would increase Acc though, but I still think Jeff could acc quicker than Gravity....

^ Clive, that may be a fact of Physics but something tells me that if, hypothetically of coarse, we were to push YOU off of a high cliff, you would hit the ground much quicker than a person of average weight and height yesbiggrin

Ouch! Nasty!!! If that's the same Clive I met several years ago when I went round there with my 348 Spyder I would have said that his weight was fine, well fine for someone 6 inches taller anyway!!!
