Is this a good deal or should I wait for the 450d?

wait for the 450D if your bothered about a Digic III processor, 3" screen, 12.2 megapixels and other stuff

I dont think its that great to be honest.

What sort of pictures do you want to take?, I'd say look about for a cheaper deal on the stock kit and crack on with the kit lens and maybe one other untill you see what sort of lenses you'll need. Dont forget you're going to need a bag, filters, tripod, CF card and maybe a battery or two spare...the saved money will kit you out very nicely.

I decided to sack off getting a 450D instead of my 400, I'm not bothered about live view as I'd rather use the view finder and the other additions I can live without. Plus the saved cash got me some goodies too!.

Hoowww much! I think if I were looking at that sort of money, I'd pay a bit more and get a 5D.

400D + kit zoom are down to £265 from the Canon Ebay refurb store.
