clutch noise?

Hi All,

I had a strange noise on the way to work this morning. When sat in traffic there seemed to be a dull tapping noise that went away when i put my foot on the clutch but always came back whilst in neutral idling. Is this something I should be concerned about?

That's fine. Usually just the release bearing moving a bit.

Mine does that since I had the diff done.

What they said. It may clear if you blip the throttle (clutch in/in neutral).

One more thing.....is it normal to be a right pain to get it into 1st gear (6 speed box) when starting her up from cold? It's not a problem when she's warmed up.

No, not normal to that extent, but they are better when warm.

Mine is a right pain to get it into 2nd gear, until it's warm and then it's fine....

mine is the same - simple solution select 2nd first and then into first

works every time, i guess putting it in 2nd helps spin the cold oil up and makes it free to go into first ?
