RS246 Live at Bruntingthorpe - Anyone from here going?
Discussion
Any other Audi owners going from here? I will be heading up from South West if there are any convoys
SATURDAY 17th MAY
Some info of the event
Event highlights:-
1 ) Test the top speed of your performance Audi on the 2 miles straight.
2 ) Standing start 0-60, 0-100 & 1/4 mile timing.
3 ) Under-steer/over-steer? Try out the Auto-test & handling course.
4 ) Sprint Event (Cars set off at safe intervals).
5 ) Track time. This will start with novice drivers being set off at safe intervals for several laps then back in to the pits. Experienced drivers are asked to sit in during this time.
6 ) Show & shine / concours running throughout the day. Awards for best 'in class'. Judges required.
7 ) Under 16's passenger parade laps at lunch time.
8 ) Trade stands. (Any trade wishing to exhibit please contact us the discuss)
9 ) Project Satanschild (the 1000bhp Audi S4 Drag Racer), Motor Cycle stunt display, Bouncy Castle and other attractions for the whole family.
We've structured this event to be as inclusive as possible. We realise that many enthusiasts are put off by the intensity of track days & trips to Santa Pod, VMAX etc. so we have created our own event which give a much gentler introduction to the same type of events.
This is a NON profit making event, its being run for the people, by the people.
Costs for this day are:-
Participating Audi & Driver = £150 (+£25 for additional driver)
Spectator = £10 each (under 16's free, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times)
Free Parking

Is it still on? I thought they were worried about lack of numbers.
Prob keen if it is!
Well that is kinda the idea, if you put forward your name then you make it that bit closer to the numbers needed for the event to go ahead.Prob keen if it is!
We have to get an initial amount of people signed up for participation in order to cover the costs of the hire of the track. After that its all good.

I've got a 1999 Audi S3 with Revo re-map, air filter and Milltek cat back exhaust. Probably running at 265bhp. Want to get a little bit more performance from the car so am thinking of a further re-map (stage 2 Revo calls it) and replacing the cat with a Milltek hi-flow version. This gives only 15-20 extra bhp and only when running on 98 ron fuel apparently.
My other alternative is to go for a bigger, front mounted intercooler. Both options would cost about the same but which would give me the bigger performance boost? Or does anybody have any other bright / different ideas? I'd be pleased to hear from you.

If I were you I would give MRC in banbury a call and speak to Minhea/Doug for further tuning options. They really know their stuff when it comes to tuning Audis. My other alternative is to go for a bigger, front mounted intercooler. Anyway, the bigger intercooler is a nice mod because it will reduce heatsoak. Basically you will have a larger area full of air in the intercooler and cold air will be blown on it when driving meaning that nothing will get super heated and you won't be plagued with heatsoak. If you manage to reduce the distance of piping to the Inlet Manifold you will also reduce lag.

Is this open to any models. Dont want to run the RS4 but would love to run the supra.
P.S - Whats the noise limit?
Ideally it started off as an Audi exclusive day, but considering the numbers issues they have opened up the doors to a wider brigade.P.S - Whats the noise limit?

Dave has confirmed the even, will be a great day.
I'm heading up from Cornwall, Nice early start, are you heading up the M5 or cross country from Bath?
Will be up the motorway I expect. Its going to be an early start or the night before. I think I will go up on the day early and stay the night after the event instead. Dave has confirmed the even, will be a great day.
