Is it me, or should these new bands help the values of all TVRs, due to the low volume Type Approval exemption thingy??

Because its classified as PLG and there isn't an emissions value on the V5.( but keep it quiet)

on the smmt site

it does say a griffith is 398 c02 eek

fortusnetly it would appear to still be taxed in the over 1,500 cc band for cars prior to 2001..

They're not official and were never submitted by TVR so I don't think they can retospectively apply them. Even the newer cars didn't have a CO2 number so are classed as PLG.

Glow worm's TII Vert was originally classed in Band G (I think) but he got that reversed and now it's back to PLG.

I guess their is a risk in the future, that the gov wil come up with an over 3000c band for cars older than 2001, and whack it up to 4-5-600 quid...

Thankfully, Ken would have to be surrounded by garlic & crosses before he even thought about venturing onto a car related forum.

VED for us has gone from £180 a year to £185 (PLG above 1549cc)
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicl...

By the way, Ken "" Livingstone has put a "3 litre engine or above" condition on the £25 a day congestion charge for cars without any CO2 data.

That is what the 'noddy' advice says, but not what the legislation says (as I read it). Unless I've missed something, no type approval means one pays the standard (£8) charge.

When does this hike take place? I should know, as I work in London rather a lot but I've sort of ignored it.

Thought it was supposed to be from 25th Feb, but I've had the Tamora in London this week and just paid the £8 a day.

And the chances of that are? ...........................................

Well, I suppose it's down to how many tree-hugging, hairy, politically correct, ethnic, homosexuals there are in London. So he probably will banghead

True that it's just the summary information that states this, but given that whoever produced the summary information seems to have spotted the potenital loophole I'm in (a car between 2001 and 2006 with no CO2 data and an engine over 3 litres), I reckon that they can put that into force come October.

I did get an email from Boris Johnson's campaign office stating that they would be cancelling the 25 quid a day charge if Boris is elected. On the basis that I would currently pay 200 odd quid a year, and that would increase to 6300 quid a year staying with Ken, I'm happy to vote for someone that's going to save me money.
